Replacement Tips for our Radius Scrapers. Perfect for the final finishing cuts on the inside of your hollow form. They help remove any humps or bumps that were created from the hollowing process. Replacement M2 High Speed Steel tips come sharp and ready to go.
These tips fit on our Radius Scrapers and are available in either a Standard or Negative Rake Grind.

Standard Grind vs. Negative Rake Grind: The negative rake grind can be used at a relatively flat angle, and will have less tenancy to catch and grab in awkward areas inside of your hollow form. It is especially useful in the bottom of end grain forms, as the direct end grain can be difficult especially if you are not paying attention to the tool when it enters that area. When I use the standard grind, I usually rotate the tool at a down angle, to mimic the negative rake angle for forms that the tool is wanting to grab & catch. Both achieve the same goal of a smooth surface.

What is the difference in smoothing out the inside of hollow forms.

Works as how it did as this was demonstrated during a club meeting. Takes little thought in negative rake clean up within a hollow form. I usually use my typical scraper grind on my cleanup though this negative rake grind works just as well. Just work slow and steady. Worth a look at.
